Razer, the gaming peripherals expert, has tons of peripherals on the market, but every one of them, or almost every one of them, always have had something in common: they are black. Now it seems that the brand will start offering its clients other color options for its products, including silver, which we already saw when we reviewed the Lancehead Wireless, for example, as well as white for the fans of desktop aesthetics.
These two colors have been announced by the brand on its webpage by showing them under the ‘Mercury Edition’ and ‘Gunmetal Edition’ peripherals, although they will initially be available in just a few products: the BlackWidow X Chroma keyboards, the Lancehead Tournament and Wireless mice, the Kraken 7.1 headsets and the Invicta mats. In other words, Razer has taken a keyboard, a mouse, a headset and a mat, and made them available in Gunmetal (grey) and Mercury (white) variants besides the usual black, of course.
In this case, the difference is purely cosmetic, meaning that the products are exactly the same and have the same usual features (although I keep wondering about the Invicta mat since mice usually work better over dark surfaces) while keeping the same price. Now Razer just provides two additional color options when choosing the aforementioned peripherals so customers can buy the ones that they like the most or those that better fit their PC and desk’s aesthetics.
As of now, these new products are only available in the USA on Razer’s online store, although it is true that it usually takes no more than just a few weeks for the offer to be available globally when this happens (in any case, the products can be bought online and shipped anywhere you want without problem).
